How do I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment by calling (212) 691-4408 and leaving
a message. I will return your call within one business day and will
offer you an appointment within five business days of your original
phone call.
Where is your office located?
My office is located in the Chelsea area
of Manhattan, adjacent to the Meat Packing District, near the corner
of Eighth Avenue and Fourteenth Street. (The building entrance is actually
on Fourteenth Street although the address is listed as "80 Eighth
Avenue".)
See
the map for specific directions to my office.
The closest subway stops are at Eighth Avenue and Fourteenth (A, C,
E, L), Seventh Avenue and Fourteenth (1, 2, 3), Sixth Avenue and Fourteenth
(F) and the PATH at Sixth and Fourteenth. The closest buses are the
crosstown (M14), the Seventh/Eighth Avenue (M20), and the Ninth Avenue
(M11). There are several parking garages in the area.
What are your fees?
My fees are as follows:
-
45 minute session: $120.00
-
60 minute session: $140.00
-
75 minute session: $160.00
These fees are the same for individuals, couples or families. Often,
couples and families work better in longer sessions of 60 or 75 minutes.
Do you have a sliding fee scale?
No. Anyone looking for lower cost psychotherapy should use his or
her In-Network, Mental Health insurance plan if you have one, or locate
one of the various psychotherapy training institutes in our area.

What insurance plans cover your services?
My services are covered by all Out Of Network, Mental Health insurance
plans. Consult your customer service specialist on the 1-800 number
on your insurance for the details of your coverage. In general, in
order to access your Out of Network benefits, you must meet a yearly
deductible. Once that deductible is met, between 50% and 90% of my
charges are covered, up to a yearly maximum of $1,500.
How do your fees get paid if I have Out of Network Insurance?
My fees are paid for in full by you at the beginning of the session. At
your request, I will fill out the provider portion of your insurance
forms and generate up-dated insurance statements thereafter. Your insurance
carrier is mandated by state law to cover my services.
How often can you issue billing and insurance statements?
Statements can be issued at whatever frequency you wish, biweekly,
monthly or bimonthly. Or they can be prepared on request and delivered
at your next session. If need be, they can be mailed to your home or
office. These statements can be used for insurance reimbursement, Flexible
Spending Accounts (FSA), your tax records and general record keeping.
Do I have to come to sessions weekly?
How long do you typically work with patients?
How will we know if we're done with therapy?
The frequency of therapy sessions, the length of time
we work together, and the termination of treatment are decisions the
client and I work out together. I will attempt to outline treatment
options including the pros and cons of any choices we would make. I
have extensive experience working with clients both in brief treatments
(six to ten sessions) and on intermediate and longer-term bases. The
most important issue is that we have a shared understanding of the
goals we have agreed on and the methods we are employing to create
change in your life.
